Join Our Discovery Crew & Play While You Volunteer!
Gull Wings Children’s Museum offers many volunteer opportunities for teens, adults and groups. As a part of our Crew, you will interact with visitors, assist staff with our hands-on exhibits or help our hard-working administrative staff. Volunteers make the museum come alive to our visitors!
These Discovery Crew positions are open to volunteers age 16 and older:
Artists: Artists lead arts and crafts activities in the Museum. Minimum commitment is 1 activity per month after training. Previous experience with arts and crafts is a must.
Discovery Guides: Using thematic kits, Discovery Guides provide что такое парсинг сайта and hands-on interpretation at different exhibits to engage visitors. Guides also go out with Museum on the Go to communities around Ventura County. Minimum commitment is 1 hour per month after training. Public speaking and/or teaching skills are a plus.
Puppeteers: Puppeteers use their script writing and acting skills to bring the puppet theater alive, engaging visitors in the art of puppetry. Minimum commitment is 1 hour per month. Puppetry skills are a must.
Special Event Hosts: During special events, Special Event Hosts welcome guests, give tours of the Museum, and help with event activities. Minimum commitment is 1 event per year after training. Event coordination, customer service, customer service, or public relations experience is a must.
Storytellers: Using books and other visual aides, Storytellers engage visitors in reading and storytelling activities. Reading skills are a must.
Internships/Service Learning: We partner with local schools to provide internship and service learning opportunities to students. We invite you to talk with us about your upcoming school service needs.
